Not celebrating as i had to drive 150 miles immediately after the game finished, but happy with win. Felt strangely anti-climatic as I was expecting a closer game. The Packers seemed to really struggle with injuries.
Anyhow, now it's time to see if we have a team capable of taking on Brady & The Patriots.
Well, I hope we win the Mega Plate this year, of course. But even if we don't, I think we've made a bit of a splash. But losing Kyle Shanahan to the 49ers is going to knock us a bit come next season.
So. The 2017 schedule is out, and it appears that we're playing against the 'Hawks again, and Green Bay again (first competitive game in the new stadium) and there's a rematch with the Pats... gonna be fun
Pre-season is on, and we lost our first game already
It could be far worse, you could be a NY Jets fan in 2017.
But it's nice to still have the good old days to reflect on thanks to YouTube.
Jets vs. Colts 1972. Still remembered as one of the greatest games of the era. "The Shootout". The aging gunslinger Johnny Unitas in his signature black high top spikes vs. the younger gunslinger Joe Namath in his signature white shoes firing bullets downfield to Eddie Bell, Rich Caster, and Don Maynard against a tough Colts defense. Namath was finally healthy in this game and felt good this day. It showed. Add a young John Riggins sporting an afro to the mix and you have some great fun to look back on. Well, at least for me.

Don't worry, it's only preseason. I wish the Falcons well. I've been a fan since they first came into the league, but they're not my #1 team. They came so close last year, still shocked how that turned out.
I doubt I'll be watching much, if any this year as I've just about had it with the NFL.

Thanks! Great game! I watch more of these videos by far nowadays. In fact, I think I only watched one full game (Super Bowl) all the way thru last year, just bits and pieces of the playoffs. Maybe it's my age (62) but I sure do miss the old days. It just seemed to be more of a sport than what it is today, whatever it is today.
Some true legends of the game on the field that day, including many holdovers on both sides from Super Bowl III. It's interesting to watch that tackle on the outside of a charging Riggins (at 15:08 in the video) made by Rick Volk in this game. It was eerily similar to the famous missed tackle of Riggins by Don McNeal in Super Bowl XVII ten years later.

I'm also not a fan of the game today or where it's going. And it doesn't help that the 2017 Jets are simply horrid. They may not win more than a few games (if even that) they stink so bad.
Effective win against the Packers last week. We're at Detriot tomorrow, both of us at 2-0, so will have to see who gets to go 3-0 (as long as it doesn't end up as that rarity in American Football, the draw).
I loved the one where the guy ran ovr the touchdown line and doodled so long the oppo knocked the ball out of his hand. - no touchdown! Bet he feels a mug.
I was at the Ravens/Jaguars game yesterday at Wembley....was introduced to the sport via my amazing girlfriend....now kinda addicted, and to see a live match was a real education...scoreline notwithstanding (we were supporting the Ravens due to having a mutual Baltimore friend), it brought the sport to life for me. Loved every second.
