This has been asked before but doesn't anyone here know what's up with the label? Are they history? Forget it. The label is not a soundtrack-oriented one. They sell too many different types of music--as a junkyard--and soundtracks represent the lower part of GNP (just keep an eye on this catalogue). The owner is a looser who fails to honour his agreements. He screwed the release of MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE back in 1992. We have a derisory sampler of 5 MISSION's scores. Your "Outer Limits" CDs will never be released from this label. And you can be sure of that.

They never released properly MISSION and instead we had 5 incomplete scores plus some uninteresting music from the new series: what a work of an amateur? The new MISSION series is worthless.

That last tid-bit IS a disappointment. Hope somebody else takes up the opportunity some day...

Anyone know any details about how a rinky-dink outfit was able to release the original Trek tracks back then, but NO ONE seems to be able to do so now? Did somebody know somebody, who knew somebody, who knew somebody, who . . .

Anyone know any details about how a rinky-dink outfit was able to release the original Trek tracks back then, but NO ONE seems to be able to do so now? Did somebody know somebody, who knew somebody, who knew somebody, who . . . I do... But, it's not my place to speak about it in public. All I can say is that Neil Norman and his father's company were in the right place at the right time... The fact we got as many of the scores out as we did is nothing short of a miracle. And you have Neil Norman and Mark Banning to thank for those releases. Ford A. Thaxton

GNP only did two good things in a serious way: "The Outer Limits" and Irwin Allen's 1960's series--I was really disappointed that they haven't released more "Time Tunnel" scores, especially from Lynn Murray (a friend of Bernard Herrmann), Leith Stevens, Paul Sawtell and Robert Drasnin. "The Outer Limits" ambitious project is another lost hope--now, I am speaking as in "The Invaders".

They revealed that their TV expansions (Best of Both Worlds and Encounter at Farpoint - with bonus Arsenal of Freedom - complete) did not do as well as their three Trek film score expansions. I mean, I would think that's to be expected, but I guess they didn't do as well as they hoped so they decided to discontinue their work expanding soundtracks. It's all chronicled in this thread I started here: https://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?threadID=92692&forumID=1&archive=0 So, no expansions of the Deep Space Nine and Voyager pilots (which is why LLL included the most requested missing cue for the latter in their 50th Anniversary Collection at the end of 2016), or their TNG Vols. 3 & 4. Also apparently no interest in expanding any non-Trek film scores they might control in perpetuity. Instead of staying sad about it, I've resolved to just be grateful for the five great expanded releases they came out of film score retirement to tackle. Yavar Agreed, I really just choose to focus on the positive, greatly enjoying the expanded Trek movie and TNG albums they released, which I'm so glad to own. I'd still be grateful for remastered and expanded albums of TNG Volumes 3 and 4, but hey, at least I still own them as they are and can enjoy them when I like.

Aside from including that great missing Caretaker (Voyager pilot) cue on their 50th Annivesary set because of all the requests, I would point out LLL also included the remainder of Jay Chattaway's excellent debut score to Tin Man. So if one has the GNP TNG Vol. 4 and the LLL 50th, one can construct the complete score. That's what I wanted most in a potential expansion of the Vol. 4 material, so it made me very happy. Yavar
