A very exciting release and a definite order! How long I have hoped for a release of the Botany Bay music, well done Bruce! Dare we wish for a release of Red Mountain(1951)? This was another fine Waxman score for Paramount.

I would release any Waxman any time anywhere. But some stuff just doesn't exist.

I was surprised to see that Elephant Walk was in stereo.
Paramount was the only studio that did not routinely record their tracks in three channel stereo, as others did at the time.
Any indication as to recording venue for Elephant Walk.
I've read that Paramount didn't want theater owners to feel obligated to upgrade their audio to stereo, ergo nearly all releases were in mono.
This is a great release! The "Elephant Walk" excerpts seem representative of the film. Is it possible that the excerpts survive because they were used in mixing a trailer?

Many thanks for yet another winner from Kritzerland! To be honest, even more exciting is the perspective on a release of "A Place In The Sun". All these years I've wondered if it wouldn't have been better if Varese had opted to record "A Place In The Sun" instead of "Peyton Place" - as the latter one is available in various other forms.
Does that promise to John Waxman also include "Franz Waxman at Metro"?

It would be wonderfuful if Kritzerland can become involved with the MGM-WARNER_TURNER library and pick up where FSM left off!
It's proven impossible thus far - but I keep banging my hard head against that hard wall.

Lets explain this one again.
Most of the studios began to rercorde in three track stereo, whether the film was in stereo or not.
This does NOT mean the films were meant to be in stereo.
.
How the music was recorded has nothing to do with how the release prints went out, smart guy. My comment was that Paramount released few films in stereo sound, without regard to how the scores were originally recorded.

Elephant Walk, like the other two scores, was recorded at Paramount.
