I'm not so sure about Arsenal getting fourth anymore. They're losing games they should win, & they keep leaving their half empty neat the end of games, all their players surge forward wanting to have a go, lose the ball & concede a goal. schoolboy stuff. I think Arsene will have to go.

You Chelsea guys; always wanting to sack the manager. wink

CL today. I'll either watch the first half of City-Bayern and later switch over to Schalke-Chelsea. Di Matteo is "not motivated by revenge", according to the Beeb.

I found Bill's dream woman, but her friend looks positively terrifying in this photo! Yikes!!!

I prefer my women to have more distinctive "flaws." There's a bit too much "remastering" here for my taste.

I've thought of a name for the France 2016 mascot that I mentioned in my last post - "Le Petit Fukeur". Incredibly, he has a backstory and everything...

Who am I?
I'm just an ordinary kid, like so many others! I was born in a small town in France. My father used to be a good footballer and, since a very young age, I have always loved playing football with my friends. I am not as good as my father was, but I am always trying to improve my skills. For me the most important thing when playing football is to have fun and play fair!

How did I become a super-hero?
One day, I was playing football with some of my friends; it was a very tight game. Our team received a free-kick just on the edge of the box and, feeling confident, I stepped up to take it. My shot missed and the ball went behind a fence where we could not see it anymore. As I was looking for it, I saw a very mysterious shape hiding in the high grass.

I got closer and discovered a very old magic chest! I am very curious, so I decided to open the chest and I found three really cool items: a red cape, some brand new stylish football boots, and the UEFA EURO 2016 ball! I was all excited about my find and then … BLAST! The items started swirling around me and I suddenly found I could do loads of cool things!

What are my superpowers?
My super-cool red cape enables me to fly up high into the sky and travel all around the globe at super-fast speeds! This is great as I can now go and play football with people all over France in a single day!

My magic football boots give me great skills and I can even invent new tricks! I love to bring people together to play football. The UEFA EURO 2016 ball never fails to get everyone up for a game! This is my favourite power, as we always seem to have fun when we're playing football together.

What is my mission?
As the official mascot of UEFA EURO 2016, my mission is to have fun with fans from all over the world and celebrate the Art of Football. I have been a very lucky boy to have been given these superpowers, but I want to share this gift with the rest of the world! This is why I will be travelling throughout France and around the world, to bring fun and happiness to people from all sorts of countries and backgrounds.

I blame Pep Guariola's coaching decisions for Bayern's loss yesterday. They had the match in hand but the substitutes killed it.

City, on the other hand, were putrid, with Joe "Bad 'Stache" Hart caught in no man's land on the two goals he alone let in.

Citeh pulled it out of the bag, but needed a lot of help from the Bayern defence. Still, right result for me...

In other news, Tottenham were struggling with plans for their new stadium because a steel works on Paxton Road were contesting a compulsory purchase order. Then the steel works burns down mysteriously...

Witnesses mention a suspicious scandanavian looking chap lurking around with a box of swan vestas.

I'm all set to watch the Arsenal-Borussia Dortmund match. Scanning the crowd, I saw a man who looked a lot like Dalek voice artiste Nicholas Briggs--along with his son(?)--that the camera lingered on until the guy made a stupid face. Any NuWho fans know if Nick is in fact an Arsenal supporter?

Speaking of supporters, it looks like a ton of Dortmund fans showed up in London for this match. Either that, or the Gunners changed their home colors to yellow and black.

the steelworks were featured on news clips a few months ago, saying the were happy to move but that theyd been there years and the payment for the upheaval to the business and staff and new premises had to be right. i dont think they were holding the club to ransom or anything, just werent prepared to move at a loss which would affect business. Fair enough.
But they said theyd received hatemail and dodgy calls from spurs fans back then.

You could understand it if it was west ham or millwall starting fires but i didnt think tott had fans like that - they was always mostly wimps.
maybe they paid west ham people to do it ha ha.

Ludogorets 2 Liverpool 2

Liverpool under siege for the first twenty-five minutes of this match but managed to take a 2-1 lead. This result wasn't a matter of Liverpool being crap so much as it was Ludogorets being tough as nails and tenacious as hell. They played the Reds hard at Anfield and they fought Real Madrid, too. The Bulgarian side have been one of the nice stories as far as the minnows go in this year's CL.

Arsenal 2 Borussia Dortmund 0

My main man Alexis Sanchez with a fine goal as the Gunners qualify for the last 16.

Veering a bit off-topic, I would just like to mention the sad passing of Australian Cricketer Phil Hughes today. Tragic for his friends and family and also for poor Sean Abbott who bowled at him, which could have happened at any time in any game. RIP Phil.

Well said, Thomas. RIP Phil Hughes. Sad and freakish incident. It's likely to lead to larger and more protective helmets, similar perhaps to baseball.

yeah very sad. those batsmen helmet grills have always seemed rather flimsy to me and when you consider a cricket ball chucked at 90mph the gap looks like a ball could easily and frequently force its way in. Those grills looks a mess with a direct hit. Seems strange that they havent done something about them long before now.

it wasnt that long ago they didnt wear helmets at all! its always sad when a sportsman at their peak dies in freak accidents, but i guess most sports have had deaths, motor racing, football, boxing, etc.

A great loss to his sport.
