I was at the Ravens/Jaguars game yesterday at Wembley....was introduced to the sport via my amazing girlfriend....now kinda addicted, and to see a live match was a real education...scoreline notwithstanding (we were supporting the Ravens due to having a mutual Baltimore friend), it brought the sport to life for me. Loved every second.
I discovered my interest from attending the Raiders game at Wembley in 2014, followed by attending the Falcons game the next month

Speaking of the Falcons, what do you think will result from the "Linking arms to show unity" idea at tonight's game?
Edit: Sorry, I meant Sunday's game (10/1). Tonight's game is Packers v Bears and the Packers have asked the fans to join them in the "unity" theme, but what is the unity about?
To be frank, while I've noticed the various statements in taking knees and linking arms, I haven't really paid that much attention to it other than feeling it's fine for the players to do so. To talk much more about it would make the thread political and I've no desire to go in that direction.
So we are arent gonna talk about it then, like ian just didnt?!
Think u guys should stick with your match reports, much safer.
Btw did anyone else see the guy dawdling and then have the ball punched out of his hand and therefore no touchdown? Do we kno what game that was?
Is this the one you mean? Super Bowl XXVII, Leon Lett recovers the fumble, heads toward the endzone but Don Beebe swipes the ball from his hand before Lett can score.
So it looks like our offense is in a pretty bad way. We've screwed up the last three games pretty solidly, so our season looks like it has something of a hangover. What Quinn and Sarkisian were thinking with unnecessary 4th downs rather than punts, I do not know. And the less time our offense is on the field, the more our defense has to work, tiring it out. I do not see us having a particularly good remainder of the season...

Seems like you guys actually couldn't shake off your Super Bowl slump. Last night's Fog Bowl II made that pretty painfully obvious.
Post the Carolina game, I think there's something still spooking the Falcons, keeping our offense from making its previous gains. I do wonder if we'll have another .500 season...
But we're still dropping balls and missing passes. If we are to get very far, we need to fix these issues. I'm under no illusion that this will be a far harder playoff run that last season.
I don't really watch football anymore. Same reason as before, to many arbitrary rules left up to opinion. I was watching a few minutes of a game two weeks ago and there was a big debate if the player had a touchdown after the ball came loose. Last I remembered, if you cross the plain of the white line with the ball it's a touchdown. Now apparently that's changed once again and were back to "control" all the way to the ground. It's as convoluted as ever.
That was a nice game against the Rams for us. Showed our defense is gaining ability and confidence. Now on to Philly to see what they can do bearing in mind they're without their QB1. But I'm not going to count chickens. One game at a time

Same bullshit in soccer the offside ruling, it only matters when officials are greased.

Can't help but be reminded of the great Don Maynard catch in the AFL Championship game against George Atkinson and the "take no prisoners" '68 Raiders team of so long ago now. It starts at about 29:05 into the video. Would that even be considered a catch today? How many replays would it take?
Watching the playoffs reminds me why I stopped watching the regular season years ago. Mugging receiver no call at the end of the Philli game, and the 5 second 1 second at the end of the first half in the Patriots game. It's so fixed!
I accept the game for what it is. I've no doubt that it's not a 'fluid' game, with lots of interruptions and far more reviews of close calls than perhaps is necessary, but even in soccer there are calls for video review these days as on pitch decisions are so easy to see being wrong.
But that's bye the bye. We're out of the playoffs now, so it's up to the team to spend time in the off season fixing what went wrong with the offense. The current general opinion seems to be that the play calling wasn't up to scratch, but Shanahan was always going to be a difficult act to follow. Sarkisian is effectively a rookie OC, and needs to learn to use the players better. I'd give him one more season, I think Quinn would to, but I do wonder if Blank/Dimitroff will.
Nice to see the Minnesota Vikings pull off a Cinderella style victory last night over the Saints. The Saints were about to leave the Vikings for dead and move on. Or so they thought. I had the game on in the 4th quarter and could not believe what I saw at the end. Good for the Vikes. They'll have a tough time getting by the Eagles but after last night who knows? That Vikings franchise has been so snake bitten for 50 years it would be sweet to see them get back to and finally win a Super Bowl. They will be underdogs the rest of the way if they can make it that far. Especially if they have to face Brady and the Patriots. The odds are against it but then odds were against the Jets in SB III.
