They played a lot of Horner as well. In fact none of the news items I watched featured The Natural. They all played Field of Dreams.
Yeah I was actually referring to the ending of the ballgame (bottom of the 9th, southpaw on the mound, man on base, home run) and the fireworks. Perfect ending for the "hometown" Chisox.
And yeah, joan, for me it's a bit of a nostalgia trip. Not for my visit to the Field but the fact Kevin C & I are just a year apart and I was throwing batting practice to my players up in Jersey while he was throwing same to Shoeless Joe in Iowa.
I need to find my pics of the Field. It was a cold rainy May day (it was snowing that morning - that's Iowa for you).
I wonder about the new field. 8 years ago you drove down that road that you see in the film and BAM you are THERE. You see the house, you see the diamond, you see the corn.
As cool as the new stadium is, I hope it doesn't wreck The Field.
