After Barca smash Juventus 4-1 in the final I don't plan to watch, I will vainly attempt to engage the denizens of this thread in the upcoming Copa America, the failure of which will see me amp up my OTT contributions.

I will also be hard at work on my nonforthcoming dust jacket wrapped scholarly essay on Sam Peckinpah's The Killer Elite, the director's finest western. Do your own research.

I will be out of the loop for the next 10 days, as i'm off to Scottsdale, Arizona for a wedding.

Apparently, the weather is in the high 30s, low 40s, so i should be dead by the weekend.

Hopefully, while i'm away Bolton will have signed Messi.

...I wouldn't watch him...

This is indeed good news.

Big thumbs up for the musical accompaniment, too, Jim.

Now if he'll only go to prison till the end of his natural life, that would be cracking.

But wait........ who isn't corrupt in FIFA to replace him. Isn't Platini just less corrupt but equally clownish? This is going to be a hard rebuild.

Wow, i put a downer on my own joy! :/

Indeed. This can only be the beginning of a complete overhaul of FIFA. I guess that Prince Hussein or what he's called, who was supported by the UEFA last week, will be the successor.

Platini's son is heavily involved e.g. in the Quatar championships.

Yes, the Anthem of Europesmile

It will be interesting to see if there is real change, or just a change of face. Very strange that he was confident about remaining just 4 days ago, but suddenly now goes. Must be more evidence to come out which forced his hand.

As to the Copa America, last I heard no UK Broadcaster was carrying the tournament. It is on Premier Sports here, which is a pay per view sports channel that I doubt any of us subscribe to.cool

Well, Thomas, he did have a big think about it, so it must have made a difference.

"You're going home in the back of an ambulance" they should have chanted as he left the room.

Enjoy your wandererings, pal.

Can't wait to see the headlines when Blatter either (a) recants his promise to resign in a few days because he's had "messages of support from all over the world", or (b) decides to stand in the election to replace himself.

Mmmm sounds like this is going to unravel over the coming weeks and months.
It seems mr bladder was a lot closer to the dodgy funds than he pretended.
You saw the weisse engel's speech - that man expected to go nowhere. Lets go fifa!
Some new evidence or pressure has definitely pushed him out.

It did seem a little too easy that the prince pulled out of the vote.
Maybe something was in the wind.
Ive heard the prince is a good man and hes back in the frame. Maybe there is hope.

Chuck Blazer admits taking bribes for the French and South African World Cups. Now we know why the French delegate was the only European to vote for Generalfeldmarschall Blatter last week.

Brendan staying...after a meeting.

And Milner, boys? Hard working pit pony. Doesnt give the ball away much but even surrounded by man citys superstars never did anything with it.
