The new website of this talented composer was launched recently and features hours of samples from his works both old and brand new, classical and film...
I'd say that his score for BIG ASS SPIDER is definitely a highlight of his career and is both beautiful and funny. Check it out.
Anyone already familiar with Torjussen's work?

It's always fun discovering new composers, and this guy seems indeed like one to watch.

Those BIG ASS SPIDERS cues are really fun, even if the ensemble sounds like it was augmented by samples at time. The military march and it's dirge-like rearrangement for that final cue is where it's at!

Thanks for sharing!

Glad you like it... Big Ass Spider is fairly low budget movie, so it is quite a suprise it has anything at least close to orchestral score and sounds this good... not to mention that half of the score is quite burried in the mix and some of it wasn't even used...

Big Ass Spider, a fine example of nice soft, reflective, romantic music (HAH!) ;-)

Seriously, for us fans of bombastic action music, this is an outstanding work. I hope someone picks it up and puts out a CD. Maybe LaLaLand? MV sometimes releases scores from obscure horror films.

MV, are you there?

Thumbs up!

This would be probably more like MSM/KRONOS/SCREAMWORKS kind of territory.

Torjussen used to do some excellent additional music for Marco Beltrami on scores like Repo Men, Die Hard 4, Underworld: Evolution. He also orchestrated for Beltrami for many years. Have heard his score for The Undoing. He's very talented. Looking forward to Big Ass Spider.

Could be more suited to them, but I know MV reads posts, and it's not out of line for a small-run LLL. I'd be happy if anyone would release it.

His last name is Norwegian-sounding....I wonder?

Maybe some of his ancestors have roots there. He was born in Cardiff, Wales, UK.

Fortunately his TEST is also available on CD through CDbaby.

What a lovely score... I very rarely like these sort of retro 80s synths combined with Cliff Martinez's type of ambience, but this is just amazing... so catchy.

you can also check one track...

Hopefully BIG ASS SPIDER will be released soon too...
