I can't reply to topics.

On the rare occasion that I actually can reply to topics, the thread is not bumped to the top of the list.

What is going on?

I too am still having trouble. Sometimes I click on a topic and nothing happens. Other times I can't reply, or my reply is not bumped up to the top also.

It's about the only site I have trouble with. My library computers are very fast but I still have trouble there too.

I have that problem too it won't go to the top, so what I have to do is, do it twice and then put delete on the second reply,Everytime that happens is why you see delete with me. otherwise our replies will remain on the bottom or worse on pages 2, 3, 4, or maybe in the engine. Now if you are good at ad lib then instead of putting delete on the second or third attempt, put another comment.I do that sometimes.

You guys are just finally noticing that this website hasn't been upgraded since the internet was invented?

That's not true. The message board was upgraded at least twice; once from the original bulletin board style, and again to a completely different, more modern format that didn't sit well with the members at the time, so it was reverted to a former version.

I think it's probably down to a case of double-thunk!

Has anyone coined the phrase "web rage" or "internet rage" yet?

Since he stopped releasing soundtracks, Lukas Kendall has no real reason to keep this site going, so good for him for not shutting it down. There may come a time when he can't afford to, so enjoy it while it's here, faults & all.

Precisely so. Anyway, back to the dreamworld.

Question - "Would it help if I got out and pushed?"

Answer - slight contemplative pause, then "It might!"

Maybe he'll get all philanthropic and throw some of his "adult movie" profit towards this place.

About that problem of new posts not moving the topic back up to the top, I have never experienced this problem, and I'm on here every day. Could it be a browser or cache issue on your end?

What happens is this:

Sometimes when you post, the board keeps loading for half a minute or so untill you get an error message. As if the server is down and your message never came through. However, when you refresh, and it loads, you'll see that your post did indeed come through, but the thread never popped to the top. It didn't "register" on the board, only within the thread itself. As others have suggested, the solution is to post another post, hope that goes through without the error message and then it goes to the top. Hope that made sense.

This has happened on and off for many months now. I believe they tried to fix it, but it seems to be coming back. I don't know what it is, and I'm too afraid to hassle Lukas or other board techies with it.

Are you all so desperate to get noticed? big grin If my post doesn't up the thread, I shrug it off and wait until the next successful post does.

No, but if you're trying to bump an old thread to keep a conversation going, you fail.

My reply to you will probably not bump this post, and you will not see it.

I think the simplest thing to do if you've pressed the button to post a message, is do not proceed with anything else until the screen refreshes. In other words don't try to switch pages when the site appears to be unresponsive. Just let it do it's thing. The site may be old but it seems to have been built with a dynamic latency response with respect to users for most of the time. Even when you've selected a thread to read through you can still scroll main entries up and down before the engine finds a time slice for you so you're taken to wherever it is you want to go.

It's quite possible that on average there are now more users browsing the site but not necessarily posting. Could be one reason why the site slows down. It is Saturday, after all. More people looking means they may buy something.

I work primarily from home and am connected directly to our massive server and have the same problem - lengthy loading and the error message. I get it as well on the desktop, laptop, tablet and smartphone - it does not discriminate.
