Victor Young, whose first feature work was the prelude to the 1932 SIGN OF THE CROSS, was a few years younger than Buster Keaton so this isn't just some nostalgic throwback song, it was just as much a memory piece from the time he first got into music. Young wrote the old standard "Sweet Sue" for heaven's sake! To be fair the lyrics don't quite match the level of that great melody but I have now heard it as a song, mucho appreciation especially to Cassandra!
