Back in the groovy days of Johnny Williams, the maestro composed the score to the 1966 Natalie Wood comedy, PENELOPE

Here singers Stephan Van Dorn and Cassandra Nuss sight read the title song (with lyrics by Leslie Bricusse) accompanied by pianist Mike Farrell.

PENELOPE lyrics by Leslie Bricusse

This is part of a series of recordings of obscure movie sheet music from the collection of Richard Kraft.

I always had a soft spot for this song, especially in its Beach Boys-like original version w/ the Pennypipers. But your stripped-down version has potential too! Thanks for sharing.

Well, not my favorite, but I mainly blame the song itself. While they're doing some John (or Johnny) Williams, what about his "Nice To Be Around" from "Cinderella Liberty"? Paul Williams does it in the movie (he wrote the lyrics), and we hear various instrumental arrangements of it, mainly for harmonica (which I just love), and Maureen McGovern recorded my favorite vocal cover of it.
