It shouldn't be too difficult. Present the cues as recorded. Which is what's usually done in C&C releases. Unless I'm missing something. I'm kind of wondering why there seems to be this confusion myself. There are any number of C&C releases where the music was heavily edited or dialed out of the final mix of the film; they present the score as recorded for the version of the film it was recorded for (usually with any interesting alternates or source music at the end). The UE of The Phantom Menace is the outlier — part of the reason so much hostility was leveled at it.

I think Sony has the contract through 2019 (20 years from when they picked up the rights to release all 3 prequel scores and re-issue the OT scores)

I don't see why Disney/Lucasfilm can't make a deal with La La Land or Intrada or Varese or another label to release the complete scores from the prequels. Hell, if Paramount can make deals with various soundtrack labels to get the entire score of the original series of Star Trek, and the complete scores from all the Star Trek films released, then surely Disney/Lucasfilm can do the same for the Star Wars prequels.
The music of Star Wars will always be one of the most lucrative soundtrack properties. For this reason, I'd be surprised to see it licensed out a price that boutique labels can afford. Think of Disney holding back their crown jewels for their legacy collection while letting Intrada release lesser known scores. Chris
I agree with this. I think the only two possibilities here - assuming anyone at Disney even WANTS to put out new expanded score 2CD sets to coincide with a new film coming out - are: 1. The sets come out next year, in 2015, right around the time Episode 7 comes out, on the Sony label. 2. Disney waits until 2020 when the rights revert back to them and they release the expanded scores themselves, on their own label. I don't think there's any chance a specialty label will get to work on them.

Disney has publically stated that from now u til Episode 7, they are intentionally focusing on the OT only. Prequel and EU material for the time being, is not a priority for them at all in regards to merchandising. I would not expect to see any expanded PT scores in the near future. Maybe 5 years from now... Though that would be unfortunate, the upside to this is perhaps that we will get a cleaned up and properly mixed complete version of the OT scores.
