I have just purchased this 10-DVD set and all the transfers seem to have been restored by the BFI in association with the David Lean Foundation, and look much, much better than other versions I have seen.
However, I have a query about the beginning of "The Sound Barrier" as presented in this set. The pre-credits opening seems to have been chopped about and some frames are missing while others have been re-sequenced. It certainly doesn't play as I remembered it and definitely isn't the same as the opening on the earlier Warner DVD (coupled with "Hobson's Choice").
I just wondered if anyone else had spotted this and whether it's either a technical fault or a very odd but conscious editorial decision?
