I've been watching the show and I am up to date with the last airing. I think it's a great show, it has turned into something completely different from what I initially thought it was going to be.
I expected it to be some dumb teen sci-fi bullshit with the typical CW leanings, love triangles and other soap opera storylines, Secret Circle-Vampire Diaries-style, but throughout the run of the show, it has pretty much evolved into hardcore science-fiction and started to avoid the traps of the dystopian young adult genre.
Of course the show is not perfect. There are still some eye-rolling moments and some stupid storylines, but overall it's a fairly suspenseful, exciting and ambitious show.
Seasons 3+4 had a lot of backslash and there were a lot of things that didn't work, as so often with shows where the plot is more important than the characters (and in The 100, that is definitely the case, the plot often times determines what the characters will do and not the other way around), but overall I think they were still fairly good. Season 5 also seems to be a major improvement so far.
The music on the show is great too, though nothing stands out for me, because it's just too much of the same. I did like the cues that have vocals in them though.

You should give it another go. I too hated the teen stuff in the first couple episodes. But I think by the third or fourth episode the show will really surprise you.

I may, or may not, have bailed too early on this series.
But if I'm honest, the whole tribal factions thing was starting to wear thin for me anyway.
I loved the original conceit of the whole show, from the space station dilemma to the survival of the kids.
Once the main issues got resolved around series 2 and 3, the new issues became tiresome to me.
