Researching for a friend. Aired on NBC Sports on Jan 1, 1995 - it's the music plays right after the NBC logo until about the 2:30 mark.
It's a gorgeous piece of music. Sounds like John Williams of Aaron Copeland (perhaps Jarre too?)
NBC Sports was know for using film scores for intro pieces like this, but I just can't place it. I have faith in the enormous ear-talents of the well-versed membership around here.
You bet, I never get these things usually, happy to help out! Then again, this is a known piece for me, not some obscure KPM, DeWolfe or Bruton piece of library music - believe me, once you start chasing library stuff, its a pure nightmare!
