trust me, plenty been knocking on that door and it woulda been done before now if a) Morricone said yes, and b) the full tapes had been made available. Suspicions are morricone has copies in his library. For whatever reason he is reluctant. This may seem mad from a collectors point of view but he obviously has his reasons, however nonsensical they are to us. The trouble is those in italy who do releases with him have to go along with his wishes if they want future cooperation.
There was a point recently where he seemed to be relaxing his stance on it but he seems to have reverted to "no". Of course somebody at some point may persuade him to say yes...
It might be of interest to know that here in Italy GDM music has released new editions of the 3 Sergio Leone westerns, in what appear to be newly remastered (by Claudio Fuiano) and sligthly expanded editions.
From a rapid search, it seems they're not (yet) available on Screen Archives, so maybe they are indeed new. (I say "maybe" because this is not exactly my fav music, so I can't claim I'm always super up to date). Interesting (and very nice) : they are mid-priced.
