My copy of King Solomon's Mines arrived today, I opened the package with great anticipation, tore the shrink wrap off the jewel case and stared in amazement at the contents.

ONE CD.

OOPS!

Something somewhere has gone awry, disc one is missing, disc two was were it should be, ah well, that's life.

I've emailed Quartet and reported the problem and I'm hoping to hear back from them soon.

I've received sealed jewel cases before with the wrong discs in (Mercury Rising) but this is the first time I've opened a sealed jewel case and found a disc missing.

I'll just have to wait a while longer to be able to listen to the score, but for the moment I'm enjoying the album tracks.

Yikes! Sometimes it takes me months or years to get to all my purchased CD's and they sit sealed on my shelf. Thanks for the warning. I'll have to make sure and open mine (Not this, but Safari) when it arrives.

You mean Sahara, not Safari, right?

Five days ago I reported that I received my copy of King Solomon's Mines, minus disc one, I emailed Jose, and now FOUR days later, I have received a replacement copy, which sounds wonderful.

Thankyou Quartet and in particular Jose who spent a lot of his valuable time answering my emails, for getting this disc out to me so quickly, it is much appreciated.

Lucky you!

I'm still waiting for Quartet's nice little package to arrive at my doorstep - living in Germany I wouldn't
t have thought it could take so long. frown

On a related note:
I was just informed by customs that they have just sent back another CD package of mine that I had been waiting for for 6 weeks now!
Due to the holidays I only received their notification today and so had zero chance to get it in though)
Now I guess I have to wait another 12 weeks for a single CD that is below customs value anyway - oh these cruel first world problems. wink

Still gotta love the postal service along with all the lovely customs people. roll eyes

Well I am most pleased to have this....previously I only had the very old CD with the wrong pitch. I absolutely love this score, it's not really a great score, but it's a fabulously entertaining one whose bombast hardly ever slows down [except for one of Goldsmith's most beautiful cues]. I'm not as big a Jerry fan as many others on here...I just buy the ones I really like.

Has anyone listened carefully to Disc 2 The original album. I'm not sure if I have a dud copy or not but on track 2 Upside Down People there seems to be some kind of weird phasing issue going on between the left and right channel. Its particularly noticeable at the beginning of the track. Try listening on headphones. It's really weird?
