Sorry but the pianist is being a little disrespectful to the singers. It's not his show.
Read more zooba comments there. At 3:00 he goes into his own world.

And this kid got his:

Many people on youtube are adoring the pianist. What do you think?

So funny how the cymbal crashes right as the kid hits the ground, and yeah, that pianist is a goofball but for me the most entertaining part of the performance since that song is terrible (IMHO!).

I thought it was hilarious. He was having a good time at the expense of the kitsch that he was involved in presenting.

That's SNL material right there.

Totally!

It's funny how the pianist reminds me of an actor I worked with in a local Theatre production, who is now a great Female Impersonator in San Diego.

Jeremy is that you?

Wonder if John Williams would tell the kid to tone it down a touch if he was in his orchestra?

I was ready to hate the pianist given Zoob's description, but I also found him to be hilarious. I wonder if he went on a coke binge prior to the event.

Film music discussion at its finest.

I'm listening to Elliot Goldenthal's "Juan Darién: A Carnival Mass" before leaving for work.

I used to march in parades with a sousaphone. I once had a kid follow me and throw candy into my bell... I was not impressed.

Piano guy was hilarious. He should go on tour.

Indeed. The guy looks like he's playing cowbell B)

That said, it's easy to make a joke on his expense. It's also enjoyable to see a musician having so much fun at a performance.

I'm perfectly aware it's not film music. I felt I had the right to listen to non-film-music and talk about it in this thread about non-film-music.

So here's a bump for these non-film-music-videos. And not just for fun, but to make all them actual film-music-related discussions go down a notch, BooYaa.

On a related note...

If you can stand the 40 seconds of the MC's preamble, the drummer will give you a performance that you won't soon forget (especially once the first verse is dispensed with)--although, to be fair, he IS the group's entire raison d'être.

big grin
