Neil Bulk posted a link on Twitter. I hadn't seen that these were out individually, but at least one is. Catspaw / Friday's Child http://amzn.to/1ChK1T5 This is actually one of my favorite discs from the set.

Is there a reason why this album would be available on Spotify and for download when other Limited Editions from La La Land (or indeed other labels) are CD only? Just curious, as I'd love to see more of these sorts of scores available digitally. Enjoying this Star Trek CD as I type! 95% of the scores we license do not include digital rights. The studios' in-house record labels like to secure those. We lucked out with the Treks. It took some time, but some of these scores will make it out there now in the digital marketplace. However, do not expect the entire set. Anything that gnp has rights to is off limits to us. More volumes to come MV

I don't think I can emphasize too strongly how absolutely amazing La-La Land's Original Trek box set was. It's probably the soundtrack release I was literally waiting my whole life for (Jeff Bond once expressed a similar sentiment to me). A few others come close... Family Plot, Adrian Messenger, the complete Star Trek: The Motion Picture...but that Star Trek box is truly everything one could want and more. My feeling about the soundtrack specialty labels is that you always want their releases to feel definitive, for them to be so complete and perfect that there'll never be a reason to release a new version of that score. The LLL original Trek box is truly definitive.

I was not expecting this... ...but I'm glad to see it, for the benefit of the unboxed among us, and for the further proliferation of TOS music in general. I couldn't do without the physical set for the four booklets alone, of course. So now S2D1 is "a.k.a. Volume 1." That makes four TOS albums that can be called Star Trek Volume 1: the GNP, the Varese, the Label X, and this LLL digital album.
