Magic wasn't one of their "deluxe edition" releases, but a premier release of a hitherto unreleased score. I haven't seen the movie in years and have no idea what else could be missing. It will be neat to have this score available again.
I have the Varese release and was thrilled when it came out. Unless there's more material beyond the missing 25 second cue, I think I will be satisfied with what I have.
However, I have to admit that I bought the new Music Box OBSESSION just so I could have the "Memorial Park" cue that runs 1 minute, 21 seconds.

I'm with you. It's a favorite, and I return to it often. I find it completely satisfying. If those twenty-five seconds are the difference here, I will go on loving my Varèse CD with no regrets.
I know that Rick -- that's why I had a separate sentence to make a related comment about their 'Deluxe Edition' line.

Oops, sorry about that. But it's true, a lot of their Deluxes (The Omen, Poltergeist II, Final Conflict are good examples) leave off music. I think this had something to do with Mr Goldsmith may he rest in peace.
Just listening to this score again - it really is quite something. Unsettling, beautifully melancholic, and every emotion in-between, all in under 45 minutes. Wonderful. Another sublime effort from La La Land.
I have noticed that about 8 seconds into Track 3 (Corky's Retreat) there would appear to be a blip in the audio - I assume this is long-standing damage to the original source material that could not be repaired, rather than a fault with the CD. Was the same blip also on the Varese disc?
