WEDNESDAY, MARCH 18

BLUE THUNDER---remake of the 1983 movie that starred Roy Scheider and Malcolm McDowell is underway at Columbia/Sony Pictures. The original movie focused on a high tech, armed helicopter being evaluated by the Los Angeles Police Department, but the remake will feature a drone.

SPECTRE---teaser poster released for the James Bond sequel that premieres on November 6.

THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY PART 2---teaser poster released for the sequel which premieres on November 20.

BOSCH---Amazon renewed the series for Season 2 which will be based on the Bosch novels TRUNK MUSIC and THE DROP. BOSCH is the most-watched series on Amazon's Prime Instant Video.

SHARKNADO 3---Syfy announced the sequel's official title is SHARKNADO 3: OH HELL NO! and premieres on July 22. The sequel has the latest Sharknado attack beginning in Washington, DC and spreading down the East coast to Florida. The cast includes Ian Ziering, Tara Reid, David Hasselhoff, Bo Derek, Mark Cuban, Ann Coulter and Jerry Springer.

SCARFACE---Jonathan Herman (STRAIGHT OUTTA COMPTON) will rewrite the script for the remake movie at Universal Pictures.

SPIDER-MAN---Sally Field commented on old rumors that Sony Pictures was considering an Aunt May spinoff movie, "Aunt May spinoff? And make her the lead? What would you do with her? She has no special powers whatsoever. She was a housewife waiting for the kids to come home. I think they did that: It was called THE DONNA REED SHOW."

LET THE RIGHT ONE IN---A&E tv series underway based on the 2008 Swedish horror movie.

CRIMSON PEAK---Stephen King commented on Guillermo del Toro's upcoming horror movie, "Was treated to a screening of Guillermo del Toro's new movie, CRIMSON PEAK, this weekend. Gorgeous and just f*cking terrifying."

THE FANTASTIC FOUR---star Miles Teller said the reboot movie will include the traditional uniforms after fan complaints, "These are the beta versions of the costumes, which is great... But, yeah it would be very odd if the Fantastic Four didn’t don the traditional costumes. You’ve got to. There is some servicing there. You’ve got to give that to the fans. That’s what it’s all about."

It is a shame that Fox owns the film rights to the Fantastic Four characters, as it would have been fun to see Sally Fields play Aunt May as Golden Oldie: Herald of Galactus

Season 1 was nicely done, I thought. I'm a longtime Harry Bosch addict and look forward to another round of this series. After all, they couldn't just leave him hanging there...

The posters are a consistent theme for the series, only slightly altered to reflect the state of Katniss' character and the rebellion. They're supposed to be similar to each other.

What DeputyRiley said, with the addition that having the bird burst into flames and erupt be used as a teaser trailer for the fourth movie is a bit of a cheat as it turns up at the very end of the third one...
