Is Spotify a paying membership only service now? I had a free account. When I log in I can go to my account page but can't access or see any way of searching or playing music, including playlists Ive saved.

Are you in the UK?

Mine's working fine. There was a general software upgrade some time ago.

I'm in the US. I don't use any app. I used it directly from the webpage once I signed in on my Mac.

Edit: It makes no sense, in my account it says this:

"Spotify Free Get 3 months of Premium for only $0.99, then $9.99 per month."
(All in one box.)

I was wondering about that myself. It was just added with one of the latest PS3/PS4 updates.

No issues here in Norway (with my free version). I guess it has to do with where you live in the world.

Thanks for the additional info. I still can't get past my "account overview" page. On the top it says, "Upgrade", "Help", "Download", "Account Name". On the left side are account links for editing preferences. In the center various account info. None of it takes me to music.

When I click on download on top it takes me to another page and it automatically wants to download an app of some kind. Maybe I have to use an app now? I never had to use an app before. Up until now I could browse the site, search and play music right from my Fire Fox browser window.

The help link is the typical thing where they want you to spend hours going from link to link page to page looking for your answer. I don't even see any direct contact info for Spotify.

I managed to find a customer support page and emailed them. This is what was said in response:

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out to us. We'll surely help you log in to your account, so you can start streaming your favorite tunes. Let's do this!

Yes, you have to download the Spotify app on your Mac, so you can listen to your music. You can download the app by clicking the link below:

Mac computer : OS X 10.7 or above and the Spotify app (downloaded from spotify.com/download/mac/ ).

You can also use Spotify on your web browser. See the details below:

-- Safari 6 or above.
-- Internet Explorer 10 or above.
-- Google Chrome (latest).
-- Mozilla Firefox (latest or the immediately previous version).
-- Opera 12 or above.
-- Yandex 1 or above.

Note: Spotify content may only be accessed with Spotify apps, the Web Player website, or apps otherwise authorised by Spotify.

We hope this clarifies things. If you have any other questions, please write back.

Are you accidentally hitting the "shuffle play" button instead of just tapping the first cue in the album?

For the last 48 hours I have been unable to play anything on Spotify on the webplayer. The last track that I played continues to play on even though the track has finished its allotted run time. I have followed the advice from the Spotify forms without success and have logged in using a different browsers and the track just keeps playing endlessly. It is frustrating as I cannot play anything on Spotify. Has anyone had this problem before and if so how have you dealt with it? Anyone with any advice? Thanks.
