I'll believe it when I'm holding the jewel case in my hands and the music is coming from my headphones.

How is Goldenthal doing? I'd say as of about 3 years ago he's doing quite well. After years of not much to report, his label kicked into gear with releases of Othello Symphony, String Quartet No.1 (and other chamber music), Jabberwocky EP, and the release two months ago of his Symphony in G# Minor. On the premiere front, there was the premiere of his Symphony last spring, the premiere of his "Lyric Suite" this past February in NYC, the premiere of his music to the Taymor production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" for the stage and the recent film adaptation last month. And he really picked up the concert activity of his film music. He premiered his Grand Gothic Suite (from his Batman scores) at Tenerife last year, then it was done in Krakow which brought down the house, and it was recently done in Turkey as well. Krakow featured him in 2012 with Kilar doing his music from Alien 3, Frida, Interview with a Vampire, and Titus. He was a guest of the Prague film music concerts where he actually conducted the adagio from Alien 3 and Nic Raine conducted his music from Cobb, Titus and others things. His full ballet Othello was done in ten performances at the Joffrey ballet in Chicago in a theater that holds 4,000 seats. And it was done two months ago at the Met Opera House in NYC in 4 performances by American Ballet Theater. Awards: He received the ASCAP founders's award only a few months ago as well as the first ever Kilar award. All of these things were documented on his website, twitter, and Facebook. None of these resources existed in years past when we were all wondering what he was up to. He was brought back to Krakow again this year to receive the Kilar award and present a concert of his Shakespeare scores (Titus (the premiere of Part 1 of the Titus Symphonic Trilogy), two selections from Othello (ballet), "Three Shakespeare Songs" drawn from The Tempest (2010), and recent music from A Midsummer Night's Dream. His Symphony in G# Minor will have its premiere on September 6 at the Bruckner Orchester Linz in Austria.

Yes, that's all nice but, where are the promised GRENDEL and AMSND CD's that he was teasing us with last month?

I was just listening to my stunning audience recording of this and looked online to see if there was any news on this. It would be such a loss to the world of music and Goldenthal's epic body of work if this never came out. I'm not much of an opera man, and the whole piece is so stunning. Some of Goldenthal's best.
