Does anyone know the circumstances under which Alex North's music for "A Streetcar Named Desire" was adapted for "77 Sunset Strip?" The opening 12 bars of "Stan Meets Blanche" from the former appear as the opening of "Late Night at Bailey's Pad" on the latter. The arrangements are very similar, except that an alto sax steps into the role of the trumpet on 77.

This appears on Warren Barker's "77 Sunset Strip" WB album. Was it also used in the show? The track is credited to North. Does anyone know if North also wrote the remainder of the tune, or was that simply Warren Barker riffing on the groove established by the opening?

They owned the publishing on the film score, so they can reuse it in one of the own TV Shows.
