Release date 28th September.

It’s what many of you have been waiting for; the landing of Space: 1999: The Complete Second Series. The extra special Blu-ray edition, plus DVD, are both available to pre-buy exclusively from networkonair right now.
Created by the legendary producer Gerry Anderson, this key British sci-fi series has not been accessible in any format for more than a decade, so we’re pleased to announce this High Definition restoration will be out 28 September 2015.
The strictly limited edition Blu-ray, featuring exclusive packaging and artwork, is offered on a first-come, first-served basis available ONLY with the Blu-ray edition, and ONLY when you pre-buy from network. No other retailers will be carrying this edition. When stocks sell out, the Blu-ray will revert to standard packaging… so to get yours, act now.

Count me in as one of them. The Season 2 music has stunning tracks. If there's more of that to get, I'd even subscribe to Fanderson.

But what about the tracks missing Wadsworth's synth overlays, such as the episode title music for The Metamorph? I'm curious how that will work.

And just how long it'll take for the US to get this release....

Some users at Blu-ray.com are reporting Region A compatibility with the first season collection (barring some supplementary included on PAL dvds), which would hopefully be the case with year 2.

I'm sure someone will be testing and reporting on that before long. There have also been rumors of a Shout Factory release at some point, as they are said to have the rights now...

Long awaited on Blu-ray, the second series Gerry Anderson's cult sci-fi series is presented here as a stunning High Definition restoration for the very first time. All 24 episodes, presented here in their original 1.33:1 aspect ratio with optional original mono or new 5.1 soundtracks, are featured alongside a wealth of special features, including:

[] Music-only tracks on all episodes
[] Unexposed: Behind the Scenes of Series Two - filming The Mark of Archanon
[] Stock Footage Archive: alternate takes and unused shots
[] Production Audio: original source recordings for material from four episodes
[] Cosmos: 1999: a stop-motion fan film from 1979
[] Martin Landau: in-depth interview from 1994
[] Archive Interviews with cast and crew
[] Seed of Destruction: the series two episode re-edited and re-scored as if it were made for series one
[] Outtake: a blooper featured in It'll Be All Right on the Night
[] Trailers and promos: contemporary promotional material for the UK and US
[] Behind the Scenes - Model Shop: footage taken during The AB Chrysalis - with Brian Johnson commentary
[] Clean series two titles
[] Image galleries of rare and previously unseen stills
[] Script and annual PDFs

Yes that's correct. The season one set is region free, the extras are region B. According to Network, they still have season one listed as region B, I'm hoping season two will region free too.

They wouldn't ignore a market as large as Region 1. It's coming.

But not necessarily coming from Network, unless they have the Rights for USA region. A&E had the Blu-ray Rights for Season One, which I think is out of print.
Speaking of Season One Blu-ray, Network's release is currently on sale (but listed as Region B). Seems to have all the same extras. http://networkonair.com/shop/1213-space-1999-the-complete-series-1-blu-ray-.html

Why not just pop for an all-region BR player like I did? No more worries.

If they sell those, doesn't that defeat the purpose of regions in the first place?

Or does the all-region player include a licensing fee in its purchase price that goes to the film studios?

That's why he's suggesting it. Apparently there's no law against hacked hardware as you can buy those units on Amazon.

However, region-free players wont correct audio changes made for PAL DVD video.
That wouldnt be an issue with high definition blu-ray (usually in correct film speed), but some bonus video features might be PAL if they arent high-def.

I still have the Region A version if someone's interested.

Man, almost 2 years since you wrote this and I don't think anyone has made a move to release it in the states. Thankfully, I have a region hacked BD player and can watch it. But jeez. I'm one of those people who loves the second year as much as the first, just on a different level.

I just looked at Amazon and not only is it Region B, it's currently $150. For one season of the show. Jesus.
