I've been banging on here for weeks about Lalo doing jazz and small-scale Impressionism, but I also really like a lot of his more purely symphonic scores. Anyone care to give me a rundown on the state of his exquisite THE FOUR MUSKETEERS? I've got the LP (Side B is THE EAGLE HAS LANDED), and I see on SoundtrackCollector that Label X's Australian CD had more tracks than any previous release, but there are no timings mentioned and some tracks are marked as "previously unreleased but with inferior sound."
So, what would a "definitive" FOUR MUSKETEERS be like? Possible? Desirable?
The only one I could think of, which I would really want is LOVE AND BULLETS.
hey, forgot that other Charlie score still not out. Thats up there with Charlie varrick for me, Love n Bullets, charlie! Especially all that alpine music and the train sequence.
