First of all, I understand that Rabin's music is an acquired taste that not everyone enjoys. However, for those of us who DO enjoy his music, why have there been so few of his scores released in complete/expanded form? There are plenty to choose from:

Armageddon
Bad Boys 2
Bad Company
Coach Carter
Deep Blue Sea
Exorcist: The Beginning
G-Force
Glory Road
Gone in 60 Seconds
The Guardian
National Treasure 1 & 2
Remember the Titans
Texas Rangers
Torque
12 Rounds

While some of those mentioned DID have a release, they were all too short and missing major musical moments; I'm looking at you, Gone in 60 Seconds and Deep Blue Sea! I understand that putting together complete/expanded releases is not a simple process, but I look at my collection and have to wonder why I have multiple releases and re-releases of some scores and so few of Trevor Rabin. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate what HAS been released and I'm grateful for it. I just think it's time we start getting some of these hidden gems.

I like many of his scores and would certainly pick up expansions.

His best score (in my opinion) is not officially released as far as I know and that is Jack Frost.

I forgot about that one Tobias, good call!

I'd certainly buy expanded editions of Armageddon and Deep Blue Sea.

I'd also welcome official releases of Bad Company, National Treasure 2 and Texas Rangers.

I was excited about his score for 'Max' this year, but I felt it was quite disappointing. Sounded a bit like Remember the Titans but no where as good.

I don't own any of his score CDs in my collection, but I'd be interested in Armageddon and Deep Blue Sea from that list, since I love those films and have watched them many times. Otherwise I'm not familiar with the rest of his output.

Hopefully that will be rectified in the near future! Until then, here is a sampling of what *I* think is some of his best work (all unreleased):

As you said in your opening post, an "acquired taste".

I had a feeling from a lot of those titles that there would be the involvement of percussion and synths, which I don't mind in the scores that I've got, but some of those examples seem a bit 80's sounding, which I'm not so keen on.

But I'd still be interested in the two that I mentioned. I would have thought Armageddon is in LLL territory, so I'm surprised they haven't already tackled that one.

Texas Rangers sounded good, and could be a nice addition to my Westerns collection.

I always figured there must be a logistical issue (rights, HGW's involvement, etc) holding up ARMAGEDDON because that seemed like it would be a popular expanded title. Given the companies involved I'm assuming it would have to come from Intrada, and as there is plenty to be released from the Disney vaults maybe it's just not a priority.

We have tried, particularly with Armageddon, but its Disney. Not our territory.

Bad boys 2 may happen in 2016. Things got delayed at Sony due to the hack.

Thanks for the response MV! Glad to see at least one of the major labels has an interest. Bad Boys 2 would be a great release, and I'm sure will contain MANY alternates wink

There's a lot of great music missing from Armageddon. Sounds like it's up to Intrada.

I also forgot to mention THE 6TH DAY, another fun, experimental Rabin score that is probably 60%+ unreleased. I believe that was a Varese OST, so fingers crossed they'll expand it some day.

I would love to see "Flyboys" expanded.

I can't think of a single one of his scores that I would actually want to own.

Oooooooh. Mancina does some really cool stuff in that score, often writing against the action with interesting textures. I always hoped this might see the light of day.

What I would love to see is a compilation album from Rabin, let's say a double disc with all his movie themes. Would have been DYNAMITE!.

Remember The Titans is a good one.
