TORDENSKJOLD & KOLD
Music Composed by Henrik Skram
Performed by The Prague Metropolitan Orchestra
Release date: 01/28/2016

Quartet Records is proud to present a new score by the highly talented Norwegian composer Henrik Skram (Ballet Boys, Crestfallen, 90 minutes) for the new movie directed by Henrik Ruben Genz (Good People). Tordenskjold & Kold is an atypical and cheeky period film, a portrait of a friendship between a master and his servant.

The film is about 29-year-old Vice Admiral Tordenskjold and his valet, Kold. The year is 1720, the peace is signed, the war is over and the naval hero has no idea what he should do with his life. Kold persuades him to take a wooing journey to England, but it develops into an amusing and grotesque trip from Christianshavn, down through Denmark, over the border and into the north German kingdoms.

Henrik Skram provides an eclectic and surprising score, managing brilliantly with different styles ranging from symphonic orchestral flavor to chamber music, a beautiful love theme and even electric guitars. Performed by Prague Metropolitan Orchestra under the baton of Jan Chalupecky.

Looking forward to this. Henrik is one of the most promising composers in Norway.

I never heard of this composer before but must say I do find the excerpts rather appealing.

You should check out his scores for 90 MINUTES and BALLET BOYS, in particular. The latter was released from Moviescore Media last year, if memory serves (and was deservedly nominated for an IFMCA award).
