Depends on who's playing. In many rock concerts, you don't sit at all. If I'm a big fan of the artist, I like to sit as close as possible to the stage (proximity to artist becomes more important than ideal listening surroundings) -- finances permitting. But in most concerts, I like to stay a bit more in the back, but preferably towards the middle of the room. It's something that gives itself, really, since the less ideal spots are less expensive, and money is a factor! The ideal spot from a listening perspective is -- I would think -- some 20 meters back from the stage, on the floor, in the middle of the room. But these seats are usually also the most expensive.
