Yes I noticed the price hike too. This means that eventually I won't purchase as many as I had in the past. This hobby is expensive. This also means Amazon Prime will be higher.
Was there any announcement that prices were rising? I understand these labels need to eat, but it seems like a bold move in terms of what the overall market may wish to face in regard to their own financial hardships. It seems so many releases already come at a $30.00 price tag these days (usually just featuring the remastered album and a few bonus cues). Will this price hike be permanent on future releases, Intrada?
If the price increase is permanent, at least there is Intrada's loyalty rewards program to cut the increase in half. We earn 1 point for every $20 spent, so now we would be able to redeem 1 point for every purchase (before we would only earn .9995 points on a $19.99 CD, now it should be 1.099 or thereabouts). So in effect, it's basically a $1 increase, not $2.
(Of course this only applies if ordering from Intrada directly.)

A "bold move"? I just took a quick look at orders going back at least to 2004, when Intrada was charging $19.99. After at least 12 years, I think it is about time and these are still a bargain.

Indeed, "The Conversation" cost $20 in 2001. Adjusting for inflation, that would be more than $27 today. For how long could they continue to afford to take less and less on each CD?
Please stop the bitching about price increase. We don't care what you think and that now you can buy as many cd's for your "hobby". For some of us music is our life. Amazing product- AMAZING Labels- You have my support and $$. INSTANT ORDER. THANK YOU INTRADA!!
Wow, some people were really offended about the price increase comments. Since this is just a "hobby" I don't think Intrada will ever fold their business if they lose little old me. I was just taking notice with someone else. But anyway, Thank You Intrada for great service. No complaints from me. My apologies for those offended.

I feel your pain. Everything going up other than our salaries. It's getting difficult and I buy much less because of it. Thankfully the prices are still reasonable for the must have scores.
Edit: Why isn't there an official announcement thread with cover art, track list, etc? Or did I miss it.
Not surprised by the price jump or Intrada not talking about it.
As always the market will decide if it works for them or not. I don't think our hobby is gaining many new fans, especially for titles like Monkey King.

Exactly. I'm sure the labels are incurring ever increasing production costs. At the same time, the consumer only has so much disposable income.
It still blows my mind there are only around 3000 scores fans in the whole world. (Basing off the assumption an average print run is 3000) You would think Hollywood alone would have 3000 creatives who are into film scores.
Love love LOVE (as well as adore) the first score, but I don't have the extra money, so this'll have to wait. I can't wait to read feedback though, in terms of how this fares compared to the first one overall.
Look at the length of those track titles, 11, 6, 5, 6... This really gives the music time to develop and breath. That's something else missing from a lot of mainstream scores nowadays.
