Well, I hope THEY spelled his name right - it's Herrmann.

Bourne also created a ballet based on Edward Scissorhands.

Bernard Herrmann is arguably the greatest film composer who ever lived, and "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" is arguably the greatest score of all-time (I personally go between that and "Obsession"), but Brian Easdale's far lesser-known "The Red Shoes" is a marvelous, beautiful, grand score, and his "Red Shoes Ballet" is a masterpiece, and I can't really understand why the original music isn't being used for this. I understand there was a painful battle between Easdale's children/grandchildren and somebody who came into ownership of Easdale's music, and that this lasted for many years, but I heard that this had ended and the Chandos Easdale compilation was the result of that. So it's apparently not a rights issue, but I'm not sure how I feel about not working with a perfectly excellent score, even if it's classic Bernard Herrmann they're using instead. I'm sure it will be a striking and beautiful show, but Herrmann's music already exists & works magnificently in the amazing films he wrote it for, and Brian Easdale's "The Red Shoes" (most of which still isn't available on recorded media in any form - you have to watch the movie to hear most of it) is in greater need of exposure and preservation.
