As a result of enjoying this cd I became curious about the film (reading the notes etc).Does anyone one know if there is a decent version available on dvd? When I did some searching there was a foreign disc but according to the info given it was only about 80-odd minutes (it could be a misprint -imdb gives it running time as over 2hrs,I think.

Go to Amazon.com and type "hurry sundown"
It's available for free streaming for Prime members, there's a DVD and there's a Blu-Ray.
The DVD and the Blu-Ray are from the legit Olive Films company. The Blu-Ray looks terrific and and is in it's proper aspect ratio. I assume the DVD is too but I've never seen it.
It's also available from Olive as part of "The Otto Preminger Collection (Hurry Sundown / Skidoo / Such Good Friends)"
I hope a price reduction isn't an indication of a poor seller. The sounds clips alone, in my opinion, show a quality score that should get people's attention.
Yes! I just got this last year and was so impressed. Never a fan of his covers, I didn't go out of my way to hear his own music, but this and The Undefeated are very rich.
This is a truly wonderful score. I liked it when I had the LP years ago, but the CD is a revelation...really awesome. HOWEVER, do yourself a big favor and avoid watching the film. I had seen it when it first came out but my memory of it was dim. I remembered it being somewhat seedy and that Michael's Caine's southern accent was atrocious. Seeing it again recently, I realized just how big of a mess it was. Truly the only thing going for it is the sweet music.
