My deepest condolences to you and your family Darrell and many thanks for sharing your stories. I always highly recommend the amazing commentary to all JG fans heard on the blu ray of UNDER FIRE - it's entertaining & in light of Mr. Hall's passing, very poignant. It's one of the few places we fans really got to know him, and I'm grateful to have had that opportunity as he sounded like a truly kind soul.

Wow ! Thank you for the insight on that commentary, I must try to get my hands on this at some point. All the kind words from the board members here warm my heart to the inner core and cannot thank you enough !

The article didn't mention how old he was... I'm assuming he had to be in his 80s, considering how far back he was working. Anyone know how old he was?

He was 79. Started in the industry at around 18. Thanks for asking !

I'm curious about his work as music editor on Miracle Mile, scored by Tangerine Dream in 1988.

I spoke to my mom about this, we are both drawing blanks. I think this might have been a film that Jerry was commissioned on, but later walked away from. My father probably stayed aboard until Jerry signed on another film, which usually happens fairly quickly. Thank you so much for inquiring, wish i had more information for ya.

I chatted with Miracle Mile director Steve De Jarnatt, and he said that Mr. Hall had worked on the Hemdale film Hoosiers in 1986, and therefore he worked on Miracle Mile too, also a Hemdale film.

Makes sense.

Hello Darrell,

My name is Mike Sutton and I grew up in Agoura. Your mom and dad were great friends with our family. I am so sorry for your loss, your father is such a great person always with a smile on his face!! I just found out after the fact about his ceremony at USC or I would have been there! I have stopped by the house a few times over the past few years and even got to speak to your mom on the phone when her granddaughter answered the door and called her for me. I am going to T.O. for Thanksgiving and am going to try and see if your mom will be home. I'm not sure if you remember me or not, you were pretty young back then, I think I even babysat you for your parents along with the Dell's and the Huber's. My e mail is msutton327@yahoo.com if you would like to get in contact with me. I lost my father back in 2000, he was only 61 so I kind of know the pain you are going through. My dad loved going to the horse track, I'm sure he and your dad went often. I bought a racehorse and named him in my dad's honor, His name is Principal Bob and he has his own Facebook page if you have access to Facebook? He looks like he might be running his first race between the day after Christmas and New Years Eve if you and your whole family would like to be there it would be an honor!! Take care and please give my love to your mom for me! Take care, Mike
