bad news, Fuller has no involvement at all http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/bryan-fuller-star-trek-discovery-im-not-involved-952233 None beyond the work he'd already put in, of course. He wrote scripts and laid much of the other groundwork for the show before he left, but he hasn't been actively working on it for a few weeks, it turns out, and won't be able to return for at least the first season. It is unfortunate, yes. There is something more to this story. Fuller has talked and dreamed about a new Star Trek show for some years, and then he pulls out in the first year production? It does not make sense, something was not working out for him at CBS, he could have pulled back from his other shows.

As I understand it, he actually can't pull back from his other shows; he's contracted and committed. He even seems hopeful / optimistic about returning to Trek for future seasons.

Oh, it's certainly not good news, that's for sure (at least, not for Star Trek, anyway - it might be great for his other shows, though). But it's possible that it won't be catastrophic - after all, he did still work extensively on this show for a while, and presumably set the course for the whole, er, enterprise. I think the show will still show his influence.
