I will believe this when I see it. If it does happen, I will be one of the first to purchase.

The original trilogy release would be like a "childhood restoration kit"--not that many of us here need one. wink

As I write this, Lucasfilm/Disney/Parallax is loading Harrison Ford's plane with the master tapes for immediate delivery.

"You know how we can make a BOAT-LOAD of cash off these fanboys/girls?"

"How?"

"Release the original trilogy...the way it appeared on screens!"

"Brilliant! I just put a down payment on an island!"

And well deserved if they give the fans what they want.

If the 40th anniversary of the original film isn't enough to get truly unaltered and properly remastered versions of the OT on Blu-Ray, then we'll never see them. Here's hoping...

What about those non-anamorphic DVDs that were included as bonuses in the 2nd last editions?
(Actually, I'm unclear about the "2nd last" part. Dunno exactly which editions they were--I've lost track. But they each included a 2nd disc with the unaltered versions.)

So they have been out before--just not on very good transfers.

And a sequel to Duke Nukem will finally be released—

Oh, right. It was, and it was so worth the wait. /s

The quality of the unaltered versions on DVD are awful. Pretty much unwatchable.

For us Scorsese fan-boys, this is an almost ridiculously ideal project: Marty making a mobster movie with DeNiro, Pesci, AND Keitel. Oh, and let's throw in Pacino too. And Bobby Cannavale as well. I'm fascinated to see if this film will ever be realized.

That's because they were the old masters used on the laserdiscs, only 480i.

Tells you how bad those laserdiscs really were as video. AND WE USED TO LOVE THEM ONCE!

I have to say "That depends."

Because by the time it gets made, all those actors will be wearing Depends, and the only thing they'll be throwing are their used diapers into the trash can!
