What a nice piece. I actually have this LP, and never appreciated this piece until now. Another mystery on this LP is a cut by Victor Young called "The Silver Tree," which also turns up on the Capital LP FRANK SINATRA CONDUCTS TONE POEMS OF COLOR under the name of "White." Once again, was it written for a film or for an LP?

Once again, was it written for a film or for an LP? The Victor Young piece "White" is at least partly based on the "Rome" track from his THREE COINS IN THE FOUNTAIN score.

Lovely indeed. I can confirm it's not from the two-part episode of "Gunsmoke" he and Hayes scored, "Waste".

I just looked it up on Spotify, and it's in stereo there as well. https://open.spotify.com/album/1NqVAIhgpMCh76GWliIqtV Cool! I know it's August, but have you listened to it yet? It's a very nice album. Just the track you highlighted so far. But yes, it's in my list of albums. Thanks for raising it. I'm hot and cold on this kind of thing, but hotter on this one, though it's, um, colder......

There are about 4 tracks on here that don't typically pop up elsewhere, including "Majestic Cascades." I love albums that allow me to gently transition into the holidays without getting hit over the head with Santa Claus and Johnny Mathis. This will be one of those. Les Baxter's "Space Escapade," while not a holiday album, also has a twinkly sparkly winter sound. And then there is my ongoing happy housewife project that I have curated, including the kinds of things that Jim Phelps famously discusses in his "Bustling City Cues" thread.
