I'm buying the Target exclusive 3D version, what about you guys? Actually Best Buy has a 3D steelbook version.

Not me. Thought the film was pretty uninvolving and chipped away further at my SW love.

I am (no surprise there). I'll probably also get the Target exclusive version.

Does Han fire first in this version?

I'll buy it. I tried to see it in the theater but it was too crowded so I took a pass. Looking forward to seeing it.

I'll buy it when it's a bit cheaper in a few months or a year or so. I enjoyed it more than I thought. There's replay value in it for me. I wouldn't mind seeing the original version before all the reshoots.

My thoughts as well. If I don't get it from the first week sale at Target, I'll wait until it hits the used bin.

Loved the film, saw it twice in the cinema, but I have kind of gotten over owning these things on blu-ray. Seems like a waste of money to me.

I just about feel the other way around.. why go to a movie theater, when you may have people talking, munching chips, checking cell phones, have to get up, get there...when you can just wait a few months (it's usually no more) and you can get the BluRay to watch the movie at home on your own big screen. Even when you buy a 3D Blu Ray at release date, the cost is usually not more than the price of two movie tickets, and if you wait a while, even less. I used to love to go to the movies, but since there are full HD big screen TVs and blu-rays, I find myself less and less going to the movies.

I actually wanted to go to the movies to see Rogue One, but something came in between, so this will be the very first STAR WARS movie I have not seen in the cinema in its original theatrical run. I will get the blu-ray... times sure change.

Right there with you, probably November - with deleted scenes and all the other stuff missing from this release. wink

I won't be buying it (I hardly buy physical films anymore anyway), but I'll no doubt be watching it again. I've seen it once, and found it quite good (although I absolutely HATED Giacchino's score). Probably when it becomes available digitally.

I plan on picking it up. Really annoyed that Amazon has a feud with Disney so you can't preorder the Blu-ray on Amazon. I'll just get the regular Blu-ray from Target ($5 giftcard with preorder) or Best Buy.

Just found out last night that both Best Buy and Target have the 3D Blu-ray exclusive. Who knew?

Best Buy's steelbook version:

Target's Boxed version:

I am trying to find the details of what's on Target's Exclusive Bonus DVD

I bought The Force Awakens immediately for the bonus material, and was kind of let down by it. I'm assuming the Rogue One features will be similar fluff. I'm definitely going to buy this on Blu-Ray at some point, but not at day-one prices.

My TV is 52 inches in 2D. Since I will never have a 100 foot screen, I will always wanna see these big spectacle films in the cinema. Also, it's a night out for my wife and I. Dinner, a movie, a walk for dessert afterward and it gets my lazy ass out of the house and into the world.

For me, it's not just about "seeing the film in a theater" but a whole evening. Or afternoon if we take in a matinee to save a few bucks and want a less crowded theater.

It's unfortunate that Disney hasn't gotten on the 4K trend yet, but I'll be buying the Blu Ray.

I love seeing movies in a full theater, I like the energy especially for a STAR WARS film.smile

Your enthusiasm is infectious, henry! You've gotten me even more excited for this Blu-Ray coming out on Tuesday, and from the other thread you started, for "THE LAST JEDI" later this year!! smile
