Maybe somebody who has the 2001 Harkit and the Varese can compare the audio quality between the two.

I don't have the Harkit, but I am quite sure from what I've read that it is sourced from vinyl. Just get the Varese if you are into this kind of stuff.

"Just get the Varese"??? Do I HAVE to post that video of Jane Fonda (before she was a lesbian) getting her clothes off yet again? See my previous rabbits for clarification.

Dragon was asking for an audio comparison. I tried to provide one.

I think that some of us are reluctant to respond to dragon's request because Harkit is one of those labels which we've been asked never to mention - although if we're mentioning them at all it's better to say that their release sounds crap compared to the new legit one.

I still want that complete Main Title.

GRAHAM WATT:

Yes, I want the complete opening credits "Barbarella" theme---which means the OST. Since the Harkits are supposedly recorded from the dvd/Blu-ray audio, then they are the only OST versions available on cd.

So in the future someone might release the OST from the original master tapes (i.e., not a bootleg recorded from the dvd/Blu-ray).

The Harkit is sourced from vinyl, with the main titles lifted from a VHS tape that was baking in the sun on someone's dashboard.

If you want the longer opening titles, get the Harkit, but the rest of the album will sound much better from Varese.

Incidentally, I was responding to your question about the AUDIO QUALITY, not the content.

ONYABIRRI:

With my luck, I would buy the Harkit 2011 cd, and a month later Quartet would announce they found BARBARELLA's master tapes in a forgotten studio vault in Paris and they will release the ost cd in September.
