Just learned that film music archivist David Fuller passed away last May - he was one of the founders of the Screen Archives record label back in the late '80s/early '90s, and produced their first CD release (SC-1-JM) in 1991, the 42-track expanded OST of Jerome Moross’ grand score for the sprawling 1958 Western THE BIG COUNTRY [reissued in 2007 by La-La Land], which included an LP-sized booklet with comprehensive liner notes by Michael H. Price and John Caps. More recently had been dedicated to helping archive and preserve the film music of Gerald Fried. David had evidently been ill for some time and passed away on May 9th. His obituary, from the Fort Worth (TX) Star-Tribune, has been posted here: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/dfw/obituary.aspx?page=lifestory&pid=185501880
Thanks. I did a search on the message board and didn't find any posting, so glad it had in fact been posted here. I'll delete this duplicate post shortly.
No need to delete it, Randall. The obituary you linked to isn't on the first thread, and contains some brief background detail not otherwise mentioned. Apart from that it gives people who don't log in every day another opportunity to catch up on the news they may have missed on a cursory glance.
