FRIDAY, JULY 14

THE LAYOVER---trailer released for the R-rated comedy movie starring Kate Upton and Alexandra Daddario.

Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lvhnNd0RoT8&t=76s

READY PLAYER ONE---photo released from the Steven Spielberg movie starring Tye Sheridan as Wade Watts, a player in a virtual reality competition.

BLADE RUNNER 2049---new photos show Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Robin Wright and Ana de Armas.

JUSTICE LEAGUE---photo released shows The Flash (Ezra Miller), Batman (Ben Affleck) and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot).

WONDER WOMAN 2---Lynda Carter, who starred in the WONDER WOMAN tv series, confirmed she talked to director Patty Jenkins about appearing in the sequel, "It really is up to Patty, and if it works in an organic way it'll be great fun and it'll be wonderful to do. Am I open to it? Absolutely. I ADORE Patty Jenkins, and it'll be wonderful to do. But we'll just see how that goes."

KAMIKAZE---movie underway based on the World War II book HELL FROM THE HEAVENS in which the destroyer USS Laffey withstood 22 kamikaze attacks, suffered four bomb hits and six kamikazes crashing into the ship which killed 32 crewmen in only 80 minutes. Gianni Nunnari (THE DEPARTED, SE7EN, 300) is the producer.

THE WALKING DEAD---more emails were released in Frank Darabont's $280 million lawsuit against AMC.

Darabont comments on one pair of writers, "f*cking lazy a**holes...overpaid con artists...If it were up to me, I'd have not only fired [them], I'd have hunted down and f*cking killed them with a brick, then gone and burned down their homes."
He continued, "I told those a**holes at least half a dozen times...Why don't they listen when I TELL them the way to do it? … It's in one ear and out the other... It's almost as if they're intentionally telling me to f*ck myself."
"You MUST calm down the camera operating. This is turning out WAY more shaky-cam than I want. When I said please limit the handheld, it wasn't a random suggestion... And the operators MUST be told to HOLD THE F*CKING SHOT!"
"Tell these operators that if they cannot provide us footage that works, we need to replace them with people who can. What the f*ck are we paying them for? Ray Charles could operate better."
He complains about the, "same group of idiot crew" seen in the background of shots "having a circle jerk", and he is "boiling mad" at a character who fell out of frame while falling down a slope, "The camera misses him COMPLETELY... yet I hear the operator say, 'Wow, that was fantastic.' ... Really? You missed the f*cking actor, you blind f*cking moron!"
"YOU NEED TO PAY ATTENTION TO THE MOTHERF*CKING SCRIPT! I EVEN CHOOSE MY GODDAMN COMMAS FOR A REASON! WHY AM I WORKING SO F*CKING HARD IF YOU'RE SHOOTING EVERYTHING SOME OTHER WAY THAT DOESN'T WORK?"
A second email says, "I'm in a state of absolute boiling rage right now...I have never been a screamer, but I am now... You've turned [me] into a raging a**hole. Thanks a lot, you f*ckers."
He blasts the show's director, "better wake the f*ck up and pay attention. Or I will start killing people and throwing bodies out the door."
He mentions one moment in his script, "ANGLE CLOSES ON RICK, seething with fury--What does that suggest? An important moment? It does to me. That's why I f*cking wrote it that way. I don't spray random sh*t on the page. So why is it shot like random sh*t?"
Darabont demands that the director responsible for the "boring-as-sh*it" scene should be "replaced... He is an idiot. He needs to leave and take his seeing-eye dog with him. Because even his dog is blind."

THE IRISHMAN---Ray Romano will play Teamster lawyer Bill Bufalino, who has mob connections, in the Martin Scorsese biomovie about mob hitman Frank "The Irishman" Sheeran. Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci also star.

JIGSAW---photo released of Laura Vandervoort starring in the latest SAW sequel. Tobin Bell is returning. Co-director Michael Spierig said, We’ve got some pretty wild traps in the film — we don’t shy away from the gore. It’s such a perfect Halloween scare fest. It’s perhaps not quite as vicious and more fun, which is something we tried to inject into it. But it’s still full of good fun gore, that’s for sure. And, on top of that, it’s got a really great mystery, and there are very interesting twists. It’s SAW for 2017.”

ARROW---artwork shows Julianna Harkavy as the new Black Canary.

THE PREDATOR---co-star Keegan-Michael Key said about the movie, “[THE] PREDATOR was a real privilege to do, and if people think they’re going to see a remake of the original movie, they’re in for a surprise, A very pleasant surprise … It’s not a sequel… It certainly lives in the universe of the five films that were made. I think that’s probably the best way to say it and the only way I can say it right now.”

GHOSTBUSTERS---Sigourney Weaver commented on the criticism that was heaped on the all-female reboot movie, "I was very surprised by the backlash. I can’t begin to interpret it, frankly. I thought it was very childish and cruel. I guess if you saw the movie as a kid you would feel possessive over it. But come on, things change. Women are at the table, and there are plenty of projects to go around. It was a good movie, I thought. They were splendid in it, and no one’s taking away the original. So I’ll never be quite able to understand what happened except that it was unfortunate.”

THE MUPPETS---Steve Whitmire, the voice and puppeteer for Kermit the Frog, said he was fired by the Walt Disney Company, and the change was not voluntary.

FEAR STREET---20th Century Fox is developing a possible movie trilogy based on the RL Stine novels.

GUANTANAMO---Showtime series about the detainees in the prison. Oliver Stone will direct the first episode.

CLAWS---TNT renewed the series for Season 2.

So I guess Deckard must be an android - he broke through a cement wall (although there was a door right there). Would have been funny if the hole was his silhouette ala cartoons.

BLADE RUNNER 2049---new photos show Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Robin Wright and Ana de Armas.
