I just noticed on SAE that a "Jazz from U.N.C.L.E." CD (taken from a 50th anniversary concert by a sextet) will be coming out later this month (early next month?). I think this will be really interesting.
Has anyone else made their own disc / playlist using the original tracks? I've had a compilation for a number of years. I've expanded mine to 67 tracks, running 2 hours 11 minutes, featuring pieces from all four seasons, as well as the Girl from U.N.C.L.E. In attempting to include everything that was on the Montenegro and Randazzo albums, I found a few cases where theirs were necessary. ("Cocktail Piano" becoming "A Martini Built for Two" being the most important.)
As a long-time U.N.C.L.E. fan (I recorded the pilot onto a reel-to-reel tape recorder during the debut), I have really enjoyed the FSM releases. Any good new U.N.C.L.E. project needs our support.
