MONDAY, AUGUST 14

GAME OF THRONES---spoiler alert (see below).

JUSTICE LEAGUE---a source confirms the Joss Wheedon reshoots are extensive, "...the JL reshoots and the resulting changes being made to the film are significant.
These reshoots – which are still taking place – are not standard pick-ups/additional photography. Why? Apparently, an early cut of the film was deemed ‘unwatchable’. Thus, substantial changes to the film were ordered.
With all that said folks, I’ll say again what I’ve been saying for quite a while now: I 100% believe that Warner Bros., Joss Whedon, and all involved are doing everything they can to make JUSTICE LEAGUE a good film.”

CAPTAIN AMERICA---Luc Besson criticized the Marvel superhero movies, “What bothers me most is it’s always here to show the supremacy of America and how they are great. I mean, which country in the world would have the guts to call a film Captain Brazil or Captain France? I mean, no one! We would be like so ashamed and say, ‘No, no, come on, we can’t do that.’ They can. They can call it Captain America and everybody think it’s normal. I’m not here for propaganda, I’m here to tell a story.”
Besson's recent VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS was a bomb with worldwide earnings of $89 million with a $177 million budget.

TOMBSTONE---Val Kilmer confirmed Kurt Russell helped newly-hired George Cosmatos direct the 1993 Western, “Kurt is solely responsible for Tombstone’s success, no question. I was there every minute and although Kurt’s version differs slightly from mine, the one thing he’s totally correct about is how hard he worked the day before, for the next day’s shot list, and tremendous effort he and I both put into editing, as the studio [Hollywood Pictures] wouldn’t give us any extra time to make up for the whole month we lost with the first director.
I watched Kurt sacrifice his own role and energy to devote himself as a storyteller, even going so far as to draw up shot lists to help our replacement director, George Cosmatos, who came in with only two days prep.
I was very clear and outspoken about what I wanted to do with my role, and actors like Powers Boothe, who we just lost, and Bill Paxton, were always 100% supportive, even in the blistering heat and sometimes as the day would fade, at the possible expense of their own screen time. I would even go up to [Russell] and whisper, ‘Go for another…’ meaning another take when I thought he could go further, but in the interest of the schedule, he would pound on…
I have such admiration for Kurt as he basically sacrificed lots of energy that would have gone into his role, to save the film. Everyone cared, don’t get me wrong, but Kurt put his money where his mouth was, and not a lot of stars extend themselves for the cast and crew. Not like he did.”

STAR TREK: DISCOVERY---Sonequa Martin-Green gave more details on her character, Commander Michael Burnham, “I’m a xenoanthropologist, I also had another field of study while at the Vulcan Science Academy. I’m the only human to have gone to the Vulcan Learning Centre and the Vulcan Science Academy and excelled at that. As a xenoanthropologist, I’m also essentially and inherently a first contact specialist as well.”
She added, “…we see Sarek as a younger man, and we discover that he has been made responsible for Michael’s upbringing – her parents were killed while being hosted at the Vulcan Academy when there was a Klingon attack. So we feel responsible for her, take her in, and I raise her in my family as a Vulcan.”

LEONARDO DA VINCI---Leonardo DiCaprio will star in this biomovie based on the upcoming biography.

AD ASTRA---Donald Sutherland has joined the cast of the sci fi movie starring Brad Pitt and Tommy Lee Jones.

GYPSY---Netflix cancelled the series.

Also, Arya discovers a long-lost note from Sansa in Season 1 which says:

“Robb, I write to you with a heavy heart. Our good king Robert is dead, killed from wounds he took in a boar hunt. Father has been charged with treason. He conspired with Robert’s brothers against my beloved Joffrey and tried to steal his throne. The Lannisters are treating me very well and provide me with every comfort. I beg you: come to King’s Landing, swear fealty to King Joffrey and prevent any strife between the great houses of Lannister and Stark.”

Well, there is a Captain France. He was created in an American comic, sure, but whatevs.

Anyway, yes, superheroes tend to be about maintaining the status quo and are all kinds of problematic. It's so cutting edge to notice that that the big comics publishers themselves have been deconstructing it all since the 80s. If he'd bother to watch the movies, he'd see that they at least pay lip service to Captain America, and artifact of 1940s propaganda, struggling against 2010s propaganda. If you're not interested you're not interested and that's fine, but don't waste everyone's time spouting off about shit you aren't familiar with.

He's just an idiot who didn't bother to learn the origins of the character before running off with his mouth.

Or maybe he is thinking of Captain Superman? wink

Besson is a prick, he hasn't made or produced a decent movie since 'Leon'.
