I've never understand why people would crave an expansion when a) they don't know if there's anything to expand and/or b) they don't know what the extra material, if it exists, sounds like. I mean it makes literally no sense, especially when the album available now is so good. When you're a big fan of a singer (let's say Adele), wouldn't you want a deluxe version of an album you love? Even though you're unaware what extra songs the gal recorded and what it sounds like? For me, it's the same with scores. Why should it be any different? I'm saying this as a completist and as music lover. Franky, I don't understand why my question would offend anyone? That being said, I don't want to start an off-topic discussion. So, if anyone has an answer to my question, much appreciated.

Sometimes complete scores can be tortuously long! I love the VICTORIA & ABDUL album as it is, however. I saw the flick, and there doesn't seem to be anything significant that didn't make the CD.

I had hoped the ressurection of this thread was for other reasons than a call for expansion, but I can use the opportunity to say that I really like it. Newman did several great "Indian-style" scores around this period -- this, HE NAMED ME MALALA and the THE SECOND BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL. MALALA is by far the best of them, but VICTORIA AND ABDUL wasn't shabby either. The resurrection of this thread was for me a good reminder that I quite like this score and decided to listen to it again
