Just posted a "Lost: Can You Pick Your Top 20 Cues" thread and decided to post his sister/her brother/his brother/her sister thread (sigh...) -- Fringe: Can You Pick Your Top 20 Cues? Don't know if this one will get as many participants (if any?) because the show, music, and composer are not as popular or well-known as those of Lost, but again, I wanted to see what my Top 20 would look like and I might as well type it up in a thread and share it with the class.

Maybe people aren't as familiar with all of the 5 seasons of Fringe music, or don't/can't do the Top 20...just do a Top 10, 5, what-have-ya.

In countdown fashion...

Season 2 20. Breach to the Choir
Season 3 19. Peter
Season 4 18. The Satanic Observers
Season 5 17. Mobius Maker
Season 2 16. Doppelganger Up On Reality
Season 5 15. Biological War Farewell
Season 3 14. Imagination Building
Season 3 13. The Firefly
Season 2 12. The Window of Opportunity
Season 5 11. Mo'Etta Blues
Season 1 10. Simultaneous Combustion
Season 1 9. Sanford and Shunned
Season 2 8. What a Gas
Season 4 7. The Future Is How
Season 5 6. The Human Kind
Season 5 5. Father and Father You Go
Season 5 4. Paradox, So Close
Season 1 3. Gurney for Your Thoughts
Season 1 2. The Dreamscape
Season 2 1. Where Dunham Fears to Tread

#1 Favorite Cue: "Where Dunhame Fears to Tread" -- so haunting...ambient, textural. Not flashy, catches you off guard with its gentle, cold beauty @ 0:38, then slowly works its way into Olivia's Theme @ 0:59, and you can achingly feel the pain of the character in the strained and pained string performance...until Peter's Theme offers soft solace and strength when it comfortingly takes over @ 1:10. It's almost as if the suffering of Olivia's Theme is too much to bear, so Peter's Theme comes in to give it a shoulder to lean on -- which is exactly what the characters do in the scene in the episode on the show, making this bit of scoring absolutely brilliant.

Thank you, jwb, thank you. I was just getting to post a lament here that no one was into this music as much as I was to have a top 20, or top 10 even. Or maybe Fringe score fans just happen to be avid Top 20 haters, just my luck. Anyway, great choices!

Just wanted to say that I loved the show when it was on, but I've never owned a soundtrack (that I can recall, anyway...I might have sampled one of the volumes at the time of release). So I can't really contribute in any meaningful way. Thanks for the tips!

I have the CDs but haven't taken a deep dive into them. I like the Fringe Division theme though.

I could have done more but I think 20 was enough. big grin Chris did an awesome job scoring the soundtrack for this series.

He did a brilliant, brilliant job. The sea of current film score composers needs to part right down the middle, allowing him to walk right up to the head of the line where he belongs so he can have the freedom and opportunity to score as many high-profile, exciting projects as he can.

I loved the show and own each of the score albums. I'll be able to answer in a few weeks after I finish moving into my new St. Louis apartment and unpack my computer and CDs.

Couldn't agree more. Here's a interview with Chris on Fringe and more.
