This movie is a joke, or something? What an awful trailer...

But if there's one Gregson-Williams score you need to own on CD, it's Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas. It suffers from a bit of temp-tracking, especially at the conclusion, but at the same time there's some really fantastic original stuff (Sirens) and the main theme is a brilliant old-fashioned swashbuckling throwback like almost never gets written any more. Check it out if you haven't yet:

Yavar

Without question his greatest achievement.

Kingdom of Heaven?

I cannot wait for this...to be reviewed by cinemasins

Sinbad is his best score and one of the greatest of all time.

Yes, it's a tongue in cheek adventure thriller. Intended to be a popcorn fun type film. Actually it's based on a best selling novel, not that this means anything. It looks like it could be dumb, goofy fun. Or truly awful smile

Listening to this now, a pretty fun and organic sounding score (with synths of course).

Edit: The horns sound as if they are playing Schifrin's The Plot

Pretty much what I expected (in a good way).

Agreed, i have a hell of fun with this one.

Is a throwback to the old MV action scores, with a great brass writing (Jonas vs Meg is propulsive action track).

I'm actually disappointed that this film has gone the cheese route. I loved the book and wanted a really good, serious adaptation for years. Ah well.
