Check my most recent article about one of the most important film scores ever.
Arthur B.Rubinstein's masterpiece for an iconic 80s movie.
I hope you'll enjoy the video presentation and analysis.

I really enjoyed that. Thank you.

I've had the composer promo CD for many years and have spun it many times. I would love it if one of the labels could give it the treatment it deserves.

I really enjoyed that. Thank you.

Thank you for reading and for the feedback! This tribute was the least i could do to pay my
respects to a masterpiece and a great underestimated composer

I enjoyed that too, thank you. This was one cassette tape I didn't manage to get back at the time.
Hope it is one of the two upcoming Arthur B releases on Intrada!

Really wonderful article on a great score to one of my all-time favorite movies. Thank you for it.

Just one quick correction: Roy Scheider's character is Frank Murphy. You called him John.

My heart wishes it's BLUE THUNDER & SCARECROW & MRS KING, Roy.
But my head tells me it will be the urban grooves of STAKEOUT and ANOTHER STAKEOUT (two scores I've never really fallen for by him and which had 15 and 20 minutes released on his Super Tracks 2 disc promo).

Especially since Roger posted a sample from one of them, and it was from one of the Stakeout films.

Excellent review and right on target!

Blue Thunder is a great film with an amazing score! Rubenstein's themes are memorable without being redundant. I think this is my favorite film score of the entire decade. He blended synth and traditional instruments better than pretty much any other composer IMO.

The score and Warren Oates' performance made the movie for me. Oates' "You're supposed to be stupid, son; don't abuse the privilege." was a highlight for me.

The only complaints I have about the film itself is the underuse of Daniel Stern and I really didn't like Malcolm McDowell in his role. His character was too clichéd and the "Check ya later!" got old after the first use.

I'm glad that you enjoyed the article guys. I wish BLUE THUNDER gets the release it deserves. If the score masters are available i'm sure that anyone who is willing to take the risk (?) to release a cd will not regret it.
