The 1966 Film, 'King of Hearts' starring Alan Bates, is coming to Blu-ray in June. Marvelous, classic Anti-War film which I first saw in the early 70's at a retrospective in San Francisco. The Score by Georges Delerue isn't that long, (I'm thinking), but it superbly fit the film. It was like 'the frosting on the cake', helping to make the fantasy film as enduring as ever. The music that was released (I think by Varese?) was nice; unfortunately I lost my copy years ago. But, was there any MORE of Delerue's music available for an 'expanded edition' I wonder?
Yes, this is a wonderful film. I saw this in the late 70s early 80s at a revival house in Newport Beach, CA (which is where my early education in film started).
The score was released on CD coupled with Delerue's VIVA MARIA which also needs to be expanded. There is an unmentionable of VIVA MARIA that is much, much longer.
My guess is that a label like Quartet or Music Box would be most likely to handle this eventually.
