90s, Cool Running's - Mario Bros or Turtles, they all seem like family ad-movies.
I bet a lof of people heard about Super Mario Bros... Cool Runnings would mean there would be two oscar winners and not just one. Both would be certainly far more interesting than 2564th ultra cheaply produced Band score.
All labels go through a phase what they can get their hands on, Varese JW, Intrada JG. La La seem to get both. Band is not one of my favourite's but still he does represent horror & sci-fi very-well like some old b-movie horror composers.
Cool Running's or any would be a cool release, just curious Lokutus do you own a Band score.
Just a pity they didn't reach out to make a longer album. They easily could have.
Stephen, what are you basing this on?
The fact the score is an hour long. I'm talking about the people who created the album in the first place, not Intrada. Intrada are now limited by what the people who created the album did.
The whole score does exist by the way, it's just that it's mono and not that high quality. They put it on the UK Blu-Ray release. The tracks that had the Merle Haggard voice over were available with voice over and as pure music.
It makes a lot of sense that Intrada continues to release more of Richard Band's output. Band has developed a very strong cult following among horror/genre fans in the last decade or so (he's currently planning a "Re-Animator" film concert tour), and I believe his music sells very well at conventions. On top of having written some popular scores, he also seems like a total gentlemen and the labels seem to have a great time working with him on these releases. And speaking as somebody who has been a fan of Band for most of my life (I'm 32 and I became a fan while in elementary school, after seeing a "Puppet Master" film and becoming obsessed with his theme and wanting the soundtrack cassette), I'm really happy that he's getting more of his scores released.
