As I'm re-watching re-runs of Season One of THE FUGITIVE, I'm amazed at how effective the precomposed Rugolo and tracked-in library-music cues work. The music for Episodes 3 and 4, "Never Wave Goodbye" Parts 1 and 2, provides such great emotional depth (not especially inherent in the storytelling), it's hard to believe this wasn't organically composed. This is true of all of the first season episodes I've watched of late. I can see where this is a cost effective method of scoring, but I can't imagine the time and labor involved in such a task. The David Janssen Archive--http://davidjanssen.net/FugitiveMusic.htm--(no doubt familiar to many on this site) is a fascinating resource for the scoring details of the series.
