He'll be talking about his new album and the James Bond theme. When is Monty Norman going to bring out his remastered and expanded soundtrack for "Call Me Bwana"? We've been clamoring for years for this fabulous score from the "creator" of the James Bond Theme to be released. The "Basie Meets Bond" album was recorded in New York City in December 1965. While it does contain selections from "Dr. No" it also includes "Thunderball", "From Russia With "Love", "007", "Goldfinger" and a few others. I believe the album was on Roulette Records, the CD was released in 2002 on Capitol Jazz 7243 5 38225 2 1. The arrangers are Chico O'Farrill and George Williams. I also remember a UA album titled "Music To Listen To James Bond By" with recordings by Ferrante and Teicher, Leroy Holmes and other artists on the label.
