Monty is appearing on Mike Mendoza's early morning TalkSport radio show on Friday 18th November, about 4am UK time. He'll be talking about his new album and the James Bond theme.

I think people outside the UK can listen to it on the Internet.

But remember how poorly film scores are appreciated!!

Did anyone catch the show?

The presenters had the audacity to suggest that they thought someone else had written the James Bond Theme, or part of it. Monty, of course, put them right.

How's Monty going to set straight all those who "thought someone else had written the James Bond Theme, or part of it," but who DIDN'T catch the show???

Never mind that. When is Monty Norman going to bring out his remastered and expanded soundtrack for "Call Me Bwana"?

We've been clamoring for years for this fabulous score from the "creator" of the James Bond Theme to be released. If he could produce the fantastic James Bond theme, imagine what he's done for this movie too!!

I'm not so sure that Count Basie recorded the Bond theme after meeting Norman in Jamaica.
The "Basie Meets Bond" album was recorded in New York City in December 1965. While it does contain selections from "Dr. No" it also includes "Thunderball", "From Russia With "Love", "007", "Goldfinger" and a few others. I believe the album was on Roulette Records, the CD was released in 2002 on Capitol Jazz 7243 5 38225 2 1.
The arrangers are Chico O'Farrill and George Williams.

Roy, it was on United Artists Records (owned by the Bond films' distributor).

Thanks for the info. I also remember a UA album titled "Music To Listen To James Bond By" with recordings by Ferrante and Teicher, Leroy Holmes and other artists on the label.
